Location: Toronto, ON (On-Site/Hybrid)

Job Type & Duration: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $95,000–$115,000

Note: This is a new position within the organization, as disclosed in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA).

What You Will Do

• Provide expert guidance on site acquisition strategy and execution
• Negotiate land-use agreements with private landowners and special interest groups.
• Communicate project information effectively to landowners, stakeholders, and the community.
• Represent Nexus in community and stakeholder meetings.
• Manage 3rd party contractors and land agents as needed
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Thoroughly review, interpret, and ensure understanding of legal agreements, site plans, and large-scale project layouts to support accurate decision-making and negotiations.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle additional duties as needed.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, landowners, and community groups to ensure project success.
• Travel within Ontario and occasionally to other regions as required.

What You Will Bring

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education, ideally in a business-related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in land acquisition, real estate, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of land acquisition or real estate negotiation is considered an asset.
• Experience working with and negotiating Land Lease, Option and Purchase agreements
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently while contributing as a committed team player.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
• Adaptable, solution-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness/ability to travel as required.

Nice to have:

• Memberships or certifications from IRWA, REIC, OREA, AIC, or NAIOP.
• Professional experience with large-scale infrastructure projects and community engagement.
• Experience working collaboratively with legal, engineering, and construction teams is an asset.
