Windows Image Development Specialist (PXE & Autopilot)
Justification: The efficient and consistent provisioning of new and re-imaged Windows devices is critical for our organization's scalability and security. A dedicated Windows Image Development Specialist will focus on creating, maintaining, and optimizing our operating system deployment solutions, leveraging both traditional PXE-based deployments and modern Autopilot methodologies. This role will ensure that our base images are secure, standardized, up-to-date, and configured for seamless integration into our environment, reducing manual effort and improving the overall device onboarding process.
Required Skills and Experience:
● Managing and deploying applications in Intune through the ESP during autopilot enrollment.: Proven experience with creating and deploying custom Windows images (Windows 10/11) using MECM/SCCM Task Sequences.
● Strong knowledge of PXE Boot environments: Experience configuring and troubleshooting PXE services, WDS, and network booting.
● Extensive experience with Microsoft Autopilot: Deep understanding of Autopilot profiles, deployment scenarios (User-Driven, Self-Deploying), White Glove, and integration with Intune and Microsoft Entra Admin Center
● Familiarity with DISM, MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit), and other imaging tools.
● Experience with driver injection, application integration into images, and post-deployment configurations.
● Understanding of Group Policy, local policy, and security baselines as they relate to OS imaging.
● Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for image customization, automation, and troubleshooting.
● Ability to research and integrate new Windows features and deployment methodologies.
● Driven, organized, and collaborative individual with a strong sense of ownership.
